Yard Styles
Apply curated landscaping aesthetics to your outdoor space.
Yard Styles are curated landscaping aesthetics that give Homeform a clear direction for your outdoor transformation. Each style defines the overall planting scheme, hardscape character, and mood of the space.
Available yard styles
- Modern — clean lines, minimal planting, structured hardscape
- Native — region-appropriate plants, naturalistic, low maintenance
- Cottage — lush, layered planting, informal and colorful
- Formal — symmetrical layout, trimmed hedges, classical structure
- Desert — drought-tolerant plants, gravel, warm tones
- Tropical — bold foliage, layered canopy, lush and dramatic
- Japanese — zen-inspired, moss, stone, and careful negative space
Applying a yard style
Select a Yard Style from the style panel in the sidebar before generating. The style combines with your written prompt — so you can apply "Native" and then add "with a stone path and raised garden beds" in the prompt.
Combining styles with location
When your state and county are set, Homeform layers in region-appropriate native plants on top of the selected style. The result is a design that looks right for your specific climate, not a generic template.
The Native style produces the most accurate results when your location is set — it pulls from a regional plant database specific to your county.
